TOP DOG FRIENDLY HOTELS IN THE COTSWOLDS

Going away is always seen as a treat, a chance to unwind in luxury and to be catered and cared for in the best possible way. Your dog wants and deserves no less than the same. On Dog Friendly Cotswolds we always champion places that love having dogs around but these five hotels are, in our opinion, the top five dog friendly hotels in The Cotswolds.

Mayfield House Hotel - Malmesbury

Mayfield House Hotel

The building of The Mayfield House Hotel was, for over two hundred years, a Vetinerary Apothecaries trading under the famous name of Pettifer & Sons. So when you arrive you and your dog are staying in arguably the most famous pet-friendly establishment in Cotswold history, not only this but the landlady is a vets daughter to boot!

There are seven ground floor rooms which are Dog Friendly and a selling point of the hotel is the location. Within the hotel there is a walled garden for a short stroll but venturing a little further there’s plenty of fun to be had in the water meadow opposite the hotel which is bordered by Thames tributary where a ten minute circular walk will put your pooch at nature with deer, fox, badger, squirrels and ducks. Even more fun maybe is the fact the hotel is only two miles from the West side of the Cotswold Water Park which boasts over 120 great lakes to explore, numerous footpaths including Thames pathway & canal, Nature reserves, bridleways and all the pubs there take dogs and serve a great pint! Adding to the draw of the location is that forty minutes away is a Dog friendly highlights, The Cotswold Wildlife Park, a nose to beak encounter with a free range penguin is a sight to behold!

The history of Mayfield House Hotel is rich but plenty is done in the present day to pamper your pooch. Should you elect to unwind at the hotel staff are always happy to lay up a table in the Snug bar for you with linen and china and you can dine a la carte together both for full Cotswold Breakfast & a la carte Dinner.

Four legged friends are always welcome in the lounge, bar & snug area and there’s always a dog treat in the pockets of staff for when they get to say hello. With the history, location & care at just £10 per night for up to 2 dogs the Mayfield House Hotel represents great value for furry friends too.
